Blogging Experiment Aftermath

Posted by Leanne | July 18, 2008 .

Whilst writing my last post Multitasking Super Hero I conducted an experiment where I deliberately juggled lots of other tasks at the same time.  I was surprised at the effect this experiment had on me the following day.  Here is a picture of me at 5.30am yesterday morning, the morning after I finished that post  (I woke up at 5.30 to get ready to go to the gym).

On finishing that post I went straight to bed and found it took me a lot longer than normal to get to sleep as my mind was reeling from trying to concentrate on multiple tasks.  The quality of sleep was much worse than I normally experience too.

At work the day after my experiment I felt a bit stressed and out of sorts.  It was really surprising how much this had affected me.  I took a photo of my desk and my computer in case you don’t believe how bad it really was.

The moral of this story is don’t try to be a multitasking super hero.

    Hi Leanne,

    Haha, this is too funny.

One time I used that “bang head here” poster in one of my posts. I did a lot of head banging when I started blogging. Truth be known, I still do a little of it to this day. :)

    Hi Barbara,
Looks like the head banging can be at least partially alieviated with your latest blog post. Will be popping over to your site soon to read Part 1 and 2. I still have so much to learn about the world of blogging…still loving it though.
